Ume Origami and the Business Card Caper

Thursday, September 16, 2010

So ... here is the situation: I need new business cards. I have new Zibbet shops, you know. I need to get that word out.

The lovely Christina of Ume Origami is having a Give-away that would perfectly solve my needs:

"The give-away is for 250 die cut business cards (cards with unique shapes such as rounded corners, square, slim rectangle, half-circle ...)"

Add to this scenario, I am not a graphic designer. Not by a long shot. The lovely Christina of Ume Origami *is* and is wanting to build her graphic designs portfolio: "Since the shape is somewhat unique, I am also offering a free redesign of your business cards."

:D Can you say 'kismet'?

Her give-away's sponsor is UPrinting and I am really loving their style.

When it comes to designs and marketing, I am such a blank slate. It's not that I do not know what I like ... I really do ... but only *when I see it*. The idea of coming up with the design myself is very daunting. I'm very unsure as to what should be included, emphasized, mentioned.

Put it this way, as long as it has a chicken, basically, I'm cool with it. Because, as we all know, it *is* all about the chickens.

Be sure to check out Christina's blog for more info about her give-away.  But ... hey ... um ... don't even *think* about winning her give-away, 'cause I got that covered.

I'm telling you ... kismet :D

xo Karen

P.S. By the way, my favorite way of distributing business cards (besides the usual friends, family, social encounters) is to enclose them with my bill paying. I can think of nothing more rewarding than having a new customer find me because I paid my bills!

Karen you crack me up! I love your post <3 I am wishing you the absolute best of luck! Make sure you head back and make separate comment entries for each thing you have done (followed on twitter, liked on FB, etc.) so that you can be sure you have the most chance possible!

I do think it might be really fun to draw some chickens, hehe.
