I am in a Scottish frame of mind today. No idea why, actually.

Just now cruising about YouTube and came upon this video ... and thought, 'Perfect!' Now, I'm as Irish as they come but Scotland will take a close second for me in drama and tragedy. Oh, I'm such a sucker for epic-romantic-historic-costume-tragic-dramas. The Two-Box-of-Kleenex tragedies.

And, add to it Enya's and James Horner's lush score and the equally lush backdrop of misty, forelorn Scotland as seen through cinematographer John Toll's camera lens? Totally dissolving into wonderfully sad tears.

For a few moments, I can imagine me as the young, beautiful, and tragically doomed Murron ...:::sighs:::...

Yeah, I'm a sucker for this stuff.  And even though Mel's William Wallace sometimes fell into more than a hint of an Australian accent every so often, I forgive him: I love this movie.

So yes, I'm going to kick back with you for these few minutes. I have my hankie handy and I have some tea (... and wish I had some shortbread ...) and I'll take these few moments to enjoy Enya and the London Symphony Orchestra's Braveheart's "Freedom" with you.

Enjoy!

(sob sob!)

Karen, Thanks for the music. It is a welcome break from my daughter's "Gangsta Rap" that always seems to be blasting throughout the house :)
