Who Will You Vote For?

Friday, August 27, 2010

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

I missed it by a few days, but August 18th was the 90th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the amendment which gave women the right to vote. And, okay, no, not every women sees fit to exercise her right but, then again, nor does every man.

So let's just say that, in today's world, the 19th Amendment granted women the right to *not* vote.

My dear historic sisters, I have such respect for you.

Love this Reminder or our Right to Vote! I'm very political and have never missed voting in a election. That said, I do have issues with so many of my women friends who vote for the "cutest" guy, or against a good candidate because he's "ugly". I've heard this stated by gals at political functions and while working at the polls! So ladies, do me & our country a favor...VOTE, but only for those who you've investigated and found worthy. These folks make decisions that control our world! This is important business and should be treated with respect.

Confession:One time my husband and I did not vote in a school budget election. We would have voted for it but allowed life to get in the way....You guessed...it was defeated by one vote. Lesson learned!
