Can't Buy Me Love ...

Monday, May 24, 2010

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something.”
― Jackie Mason
Money is tight of late. Very snug, indeed. Not uncomfortably so but still, enough to make us want to shed some of this extra weight and get back to sleeker, slimmer living.

And like dieting, it's all about habit and growing used to new ways of doing things. So the Man and I have had a series of dinner-time chats, brainstorming on what we can and should be doing.

Lots of it is really quite easy. As much as we love to, we stopped eating out. And we will keep NetFlix but ditch cable television stuff. And we're using up anything and everything possible before bringing *new* into the house. I mean, do we really *need* 20 varieties of tea? And we look for our fun and entertainment closer to home (*when* we have free time, which isn't often).

We are definitely up for your suggestions. What are you doing to pinch the penny? How are you cutting back? Honestly, I'd love to hear!

And now, from one of my most favorite movies, Empire Records, 1995
